2012 was the year that snares and hi hats invaded EDM with the trap movement, and no one was more prevalent in this change than Flosstradamus. This duo of J2K and Autobot, hailing from Chicago, have been producing beats for number of record labels (Vice Records, NIKE+) and artists (De La Soul) since 2006. In the last few years, Flosstradamus has moved on to original productions and had their first EP, Jubilation 2.0, released through A-Trak’s famous Fool Gold label.
The group truly hit it big with their remix of Major Lazer’s “Original Don” that had everyone take notice. I even heard Porter Robinson drop the track in middle of one of his sets at Identity Festival this summer.

While the boys worked on their style of trap, they worked with a variety of artists from DJ Sliink to A-Trak himself to create that perfect sound. They even teamed up with hardstyle producer DJ Issac to create their latest bomb, “Underground Anthem.” Autobot and J2K dropped a beastly 30 minute mix that shows off their incredible mix abilities as well as great original production.

Collective Efforts has just booked Flosstradamus for The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco with support from DJ Spinz for April 24. These guys put on a hell of a show and I would not miss this opportunity as their careers have nowhere to go but up.
