Porter Robinson - Language- Music Video Debut

Written By @TheDenimBoa on Wednesday, 01 August 2012

Our good friend Porter Robinson debuted his first music video today titled after his latest EP release - Language - out now on Ministry of Sound.

The video & track both mesh amazingly together, and the opening scene of the video captivates you from the very start. This track is by far Porters most melodic track to date, and shows his growth and maturity with his productions.

This video was directed by Jonathan Desbiens who has been on fire as of late directing Cypress Hill's ‘Roll it, Light it’, and the Deftones ‘You’ve seen the Butcher’.

It is amazing to see Porter Robinson's growth over the past few years, and he is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon. We're excited to see what he has in store for us in the future.

White Party Artist Spotlight: Porter Robinson & Peacetreaty

Written By Jake Stanier on Saturday, 14 May 2011

Summer. For some, it means the end of grueling schoolwork and long hours during the week. For others, it’s the start of new jobs and new routines. One thing is for sure though—there will be endless sunrays, drinks by the pool and most importantly, summer concerts! With the summer solstice just a little more than a month away, it's time to prepare for a season of epic proportions. What better way to kick it off than with a White Party featuring none other than prodigy DJ/producer Porter Robinson and the familiar faces of one of my new favorite up-and-coming groups, Peacetreaty. This is sure to be a show that will blow everyone away.

Porter Robinson is considered a phenomenon of our time, and his rapid ascent to the frontline of Electronic Dance Music has been one to remember. At a mere 18-years-old, Porter managed to secure the #1 spot on Beatport's Electro-house chart, topping DJs and producers from around the world with his smash hit “Say My Name”—a track he had created before even once setting foot in a club or festival. Now considered a hit sensation, his instantly recognizable signature sound has since earned him the support of illustrious producers, ranging from Tiesto and David Guetta to The Crystal Method and Dada Life. Expect to have a night jam packed with ear-gasms not only this upcoming week at The White Party, but also a month later on June 26th with big names Zedd and Skrillex.

If that is not enough to excite you, Peacetreaty is also part of the White Party lineup. With tracks that have been known to incite glorious mayhem and explosive dancing the name seems somewhat ironic, yet they continue to annihilate speakers and dance floors with their cataclysmic sound and an overall “band-like” feeling put off by the three. Similar to Porter, they are one of the fastest up-and-coming EDM groups to hit the scene this year. Created by producer Josh Anaya in 2009, he teamed up with DJ Sam Hiller from Groove Radio and musician Angelo Patino-Patroni to form the new trio in 2010. Nearly instantaneously receiving support from many exceptionally renowned names such as recently featured Wolfgang Gartner, Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Deadmau5, and a couple other personal favorites of mine—Fake Blood and the aforementioned Porter Robinson.

With the help of their friend Dan Oh, Peacetreaty was able to get their frontline track “Cal State Anthem” into the hands of Steve Aoki himself last June. Since then, they have been added to the legendary Dim Mak roster alongside some of the greatest names in EDM, including MSTRKRFT, The Bloody Beetroots, Dada Life, Felix Cartel, and more. Aside from their planned Dim Mak EP that is to be released in November, they plan to release an EP for Afrojack's label featuring "Kissed with the Noise," as well as a remix coming out on Laidback Luke's label, Mixmash.

Tune in next week after the concert for an exclusive video interview. In the meantime you can expect Porter Robinson and Peacetreaty to continue rising to headliner status over the next year, so don't miss their return to SLO for the White Party on the 21st!
